We have officially been in lockdown now for 5 weeks and I have to say that I almost can’t believe we have made it.

The children have for the most part adapted really well to their new reality. That’s not to say that we haven’t had our moments of boredom and frustration. But again, I have to say that I am so proud of the way that they have handled these uncertain times.

The hardest part of all of this has been when the children all started online schooling. Planning a schedule where all 15 children are doing school online (with only 5 smart devices) was an administrative nightmare. But we conquered. We have been really impressed with the level of online schooling offered by the schools our children are a part of. We have really felt supported, and have loved the routine as it gives us direction for each child.

Our community continues to rally around us and provide us with the occasional meal and extra activities and treats for our children. We will often get phone calls asking how people can help. Thank you to all of you for remembering us in this time.

Your prayers have also been felt so much. This past month has probably been one of my most favourite months running HTH because it has allowed me to get to know the kids and moms so much better. To get to see where they struggle in school; whether it’s the academic side or just self-esteem. To breathe life into each child as needed has been a gift. Not having the pressures of business and everyday life means that I am able to eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner with my family and this has been another blessing.

I know it doesn’t make sense and that’s why I want to thank you for your prayers because it can only be God working all this to his good. Each day may be long and we are almost always exhausted but our hearts are full.

Please continue praying with us that as this pandemic keeps unfolding God will meet our every need and give us the wisdom, patience, and energy for whatever lies ahead.
